The basics
The Employee Portal is your home base in Planbase. From one screen you can view your schedule, clock in and out, claim open shifts, track pending requests, and open tools to submit time off, availability, or schedule changes.
Open the Employee Portal from the calendar icon near the bottom of the left sidebar, or go to app.joinplanbase.com/providerapp.
What's on the dashboard
Header – Greeting, today's date, and shortcuts for apps, time off balances, timesheets, help, and your profile.
Pending Requests – Chips for items still waiting on a decision (for example, shift claims or time off).
Clock In / Out – Start or end your shift time in the app.
Upcoming Shifts – Your next scheduled shifts.
Shift Opportunities – Open shifts you can claim.
Your Schedule – Month or week calendar of shifts, time off, and availability, plus Submit Availability or Manage Your Schedule, and Submit Time Off. While managing your schedule, you can right-click to copy and paste an entry, day, or week. Copied shifts still need approval after you submit.
Clocking in and out
Open the Employee Portal.
Find Clock In / Out on the left.
Click Clock In Now when you start, then clock out when you finish.
If your organization also uses Slack for time tracking, see Tracking your time in Planbase.
Viewing your schedule
In Your Schedule you can:
Switch between Month and Week.
Use Today or the arrows to move between periods.
Expand to full screen when you need more space.
Shifts, time off, and Available to work windows appear as cards on each day.
Viewing other people's schedules
To see teammates or other clinicians (sometimes called admin view):
In the Employee Portal, click the calendar icon in the top-left of the schedule. This is not the sidebar calendar icon that opens the portal.
That switches from your calendar to the team view.
Use search or filters to jump to a person or team.
What you can see depends on Can also view on the user's profile. If you don't see someone, ask an administrator to check that permission.
Pending requests
Requests waiting for approval can appear under Pending Requests at the top of the portal. Click a chip to open details. You can cancel some pending items (for example, a shift claim) from there if your organization allows it.
Claiming open shifts
If your organization posts open shifts:
Look under Shift Opportunities on the left of the Employee Portal.
Click a shift to review the details.
Submit a claim.
Track it under Pending Requests until a manager accepts or declines it.
Managers review claims in Scheduling → Open Shifts (not the Requests list). For more detail on claiming, see also Claiming Open Shifts.
