Custom apps let non-technical users build additional features such as reports, forms, dashboards, or workflows that extend the core functionality of Planbase.

You can control both who has access to the apps that you create as well as the data that apps are able to use and or edit.

Building a Custom App

โ„น๏ธ โ„น๏ธ If you are building an app which has permission to make changes to your account we advise starting in your staging environment!

Navigate to the Custom Apps page within Planbase and click the + New App button at the top of the page. You can also select an existing app from the dropdown menu in the toolbar.

Select the EDIT button at the top of the page to start editing or building your app.

  1. Use the chat interface to interact with Planbase to explain your requirements

  2. Use the data permissions to control which data your app should have access to

  3. Use the access permissions to control who should be able to view your app

Using your custom apps

โ„น๏ธ โ„น๏ธ Managers and end users are only able to view those apps that they have been granted specific access to.

Use the access permissions to control who has access to the apps that you create.

Administrators and managers can access custom apps through the sidebar of the main Planbase web application.

End users can find custom apps that they have been granted access to via the top toolbar in the employee web application.
