How to request flex time hours

How to request time off that requires makeup hours from the Employee Portal

The basics

Some time-off types let you take hours off and make them up later. Your organization decides which types work this way. They might be labeled Flex Time, or they might use another name.

When you select one of those types, Planbase asks when you will work the makeup hours.

Not every organization uses makeup hours. If you never see the makeup field when requesting time off, this guide does not apply to you.

How to request it

  1. Open the Employee Portal.

  2. In Your Schedule, click Submit Time Off.

  3. Choose the date, select the time-off type (for example Flex Time), and enter the start time and hours.

  4. When asked, pick when you will make the hours up.

  5. Click Submit request.

Makeup hours can’t overlap your regular shifts or other time off. Planbase will warn you if something needs fixing before you submit.

For example, 2 hours off Monday 9–11 AM might be made up Wednesday 12–2 AM. After approval, Planbase typically shortens Monday and adds the makeup shift.
